Chrysalis is a re-actualized archive of all of my belongings.
Chrysalis is reflective of our aspirations to become our desired selves by consuming objects and items that we think will sustain the idea, image, and identity of ourselves.
It is a fragile but endless cycle and hunger for self-expression through obsessive and compulsive ownership that can never be satisfied, yet can also provide a sense of home and comfort for some.
Inside of the illuminated paper and reed structure hangs seven representations of my most prized possessions, in a mobile-like fashion. When one enters the chrysalis, they are transported and cocooned into a child-like state of comfort and warmth.
